Keeping Email Working During a Website Move Print

  • 0

Why this matters

Moving a website must not accidentally replace the records supporting existing email.

Step by step

  1. Identify the current mail provider and obtain the existing DNS zone through the authorised administrator.
  2. Agree which website records will change and which mail records must be preserved; do not replace nameservers without a complete zone plan.
  3. After the move, test incoming and outgoing messages using an external mailbox as well as testing the website.

Keep the result of the final check and any unresolved question with your project records.

Where to continue

Availability depends on the product, permissions and management agreement. Use the existing support conversation for the same issue.
